Craig Allen leads all key operational aspects of the Company, including Logistics, Phlebotomy, Customer Service, Operations Excellence, Facilities, Procurement, and Lab Network Operations. Craig is passionate about driving continuous improvement in daily operations and helping BioReference® make sound business decisions.
Craig has more than twenty-five years of experience in Operations and Process Excellence across manufacturing, distribution, and healthcare industries. Prior to joining BioReference® in 2018, Craig held various leadership roles at Quest Diagnostics and General Electric. He has an exemplary record of building and developing high-performing teams that consistently surpass business goals and generate profitable growth in Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Sales environments. Craig’s teams deliver multi-million dollar productivity savings through waste elimination, process re-design and staffing optimization. He is highly skilled in operating a business by turning data analytics into practical business information, utilizing review mechanisms and creating a performance culture to deliver results. Craig is a Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Craig received his M.B.A. at SUNY-Albany and holds a B.S. in Engineering from Clemson University.
James Weisberger, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.S.C.P.
Chief Medical Officer
Executive Vice President, Laboratory Director
Dr. James Weisberger is a board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist and recognized leader in hematopathology. He oversees all key laboratory operations and quality systems, and maintains BioReference® Health as an innovative, quality laboratory where patient care and laboratory safety come first. Dr. Weisberger strives to position BioReference® as a leader in providing patient-centric, precision-based laboratory results and data analytics for best practice of patient care.
Dr. Weisberger has authored more than 40 publications as abstracts or peer-reviewed journal articles, and is an active educator at the New York Medical College, where he serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pathology and Medicine. He is a Fellow and Member of the New Jersey House of Delegates for the College of American Pathology, and a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. He is also a member of the New Jersey Society of Pathology and Association for Molecular Pathology.
Dr. Weisberger was Chief Resident in Pathology at Westchester Medical Center and holds both a B.S. and M.S. from Stanford University, and a M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ellen Beausang
Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer
Ellen Beausang leads the commercial and product franchise teams. She is responsible for driving growth for the organization through commercial sales teams as well as product marketing, training and driving overall strategy for the product franchises. Ellen brings an extensive track record of leading commercial, marketing and franchise organizations to strategically bring up best in class products, services and solutions.
As an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, Ellen has held executive roles at leading pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies including Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Thermo Fisher Diagnostics, and Quest Diagnostics. Ellen is passionate about building high-performing teams and best-in-class portfolios through a strong vision that always is customer-centric and focused. Prior to joining BioReference®, Ellen was the Executive Director for Oncology at Quest Diagnostics where she managed the go-to market strategy and product development.
Ellen holds a M.A. Degree from Seton Hall University and a dual B.S. in Sociology/Psychology.
Greg Cahill
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Greg Cahill leads a diverse team that works to provide innovative HR solutions that create a culture and environment to promote employee engagement, maximize employee potential and establish BioReference® as an employer of choice in the healthcare market. With leadership of Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Facilities, and Security, supporting our employees from recruitment throughout their careers with us is always the priority.
Greg has more than 25 years of experience in EHS and HR leadership roles with domestic and global scope, spanning a diversity of industries from Consumer Products to Life Sciences. He previously served as the Americas Head of HR at Kedrion Biopharma and the Global Head of HR at KEDPlasma; he has also held HR leadership roles at: Shionogi, PAR/Strativa, Verispan and Aventis.
Greg holds a B.S. in Marketing from St. Peters University.
Vincent D’Orazio
Senior Vice President, Operations
Vincent D’Orazio is responsible for leading key operations including Logistics, Phlebotomy, Customer Service, Operations Excellence, Facilities, Procurement, and Lab Network Operations at BioReference®. Vincent has proven expertise and leadership in analytical and strategic planning skills to steer sizeable, multi-million dollar projects that improve outcomes and safety, reduce costs, and enhance end-to-end workflow performance.
A seasoned veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Vincent has supported Laboratory Operations in different capacities at Quest Diagnostics, NYC Health + Hospitals, and North Bronx Healthcare Network. In addition, Vincent also held Supervisor of Respiratory Care and Staff Respiratory Therapist roles at North Bronx Healthcare Network.
Vincent holds a M.P.H. and B.S. from Mercy College.
Merve Ozkus
Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Merve Ozkus is responsible for the company’s IT and computer systems & end user compute. Merve provides leadership in technology operations and strategy while ensuring an innovative, robust, scalable, and secure technology ecosystem at BioReference®. The primary responsibilities for her office include: IT Governance & Portfolio Management, Technology Infrastructure & Operations Services, Customer Connectivity and EMR Solutions, Product Management and Software Development, as well as Lab Information Systems management.
Merve brings nearly 15 years of IT technology experience & progressive thought leadership to the organization. She is ITIL and Scrum certified and holds an M.B.A. from Montclair State University along with a bachelors in Biological Sciences and Geography from Rutgers University.
In 2023, Merve was named a Top 10 CIO in the Healthcare Sector by Healthcare Digital.
Robert Rossi, Esq.
Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for BioReference®
Robert J. Rossi is the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for BioReference® Rob is a seasoned laboratory industry veteran who has served in both legal and compliance leadership roles throughout his career in both the private and public sectors for the past 33 years. Rob previously held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for BioReference®.
He has previously served in various leadership capacities, such as General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for global and national clinical, pathology and toxicology independent clinical laboratories. Rob also served as Chief Deputy Attorney General, Director of Medicaid Fraud Unit for the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office. He started his legal career as a local prosecutor for the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania where he prosecuted numerous jury trials including homicides.
Rob is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, Health Care Compliance Association, American Health Lawyers Association, and Advisory Board of the Temple Law School Center for Compliance and Ethics.
Rob is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He holds his J.D. from Temple Law School and B.A. from Temple University. Rob was also recently appointed to the Pennsylvania Bar Health Law Committee.
Michael Schmid
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Michael Schmid brings a unique mix of global and domestic finance leadership to BioReference®, where he oversees all finance and has significant experience in diverse healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical device and consulting companies.
Michael’s prior experience includes key finance leadership roles at international companies such as Demant North America, ratiopharm Canada, Convatec Germany, Azupharma and Merck KGaA.
Michael received his Certified Management Accountant designation in Canada and holds an M.B.A from the University of Mannheim.
